Top Terrace

There is something inherently uplifting about dining in the open air, listening to the steady sound of waves against the shore and feeling the warmth of the sun on the terrace beneath your feet. It is comforting, it is familiar, and it feels effortless.

As the season unfolds, our terraces become places to pause between commitments and reconnect over good food and thoughtful wines. Long lunches stretch into early evenings whilst conversations linger and the sun sets. It is not about excess. It is about balance, flavour, freshness and a well-chosen glass.

Carefully curated seasonal dishes take centre stage, vibrant salads, seafood prepared simply, and small plates designed for sharing. Our carefully crafted menus are built around fresh food, simply but beautifully made, light enough for an aperitif, satisfying enough to anchor a glass of something chilled.

Timeless Tranquility, Lasting Memories

We all remember summers past. Maybe life was easier and simpler, and our waistline smaller, but we can all recall great food and drinks enjoyed with even greater company — if not the details, then the feelings we were left with. Relaxed. Happy. Contented. It is these feelings that we all aim to conjure back again as the cold and wet of winter gives way to the blossom of spring and the lazy days of summer.

Whether enjoying the sheltered gardens of St Pierre Park nestled on a picnic blanket, the ocean views whilst reclining on the terrace at L’Horizon, or feeling the sand in your toes with a post-lunch stroll along the beach at Braye, the experience is consistent: elegant surroundings, attentive service and menus designed to complement the view rather than compete with it.

As Gerald Durrell once reflected on island life, “Each day had a tranquillity, a timelessness about it.” That sense of unhurried ease feels particularly fitting when enjoyed outdoors, glass in hand.

Our Top Four Wines for Terrace Dining

A considered selection of wines from our cellar list, perfect to complement lighter dishes and coastal flavours alike.

Villa Saletta Luna, Chianti Superiore DOCG 2019

A refined and pure expression of Tuscan Sangiovese, Luna bursts with bright sour cherry, red plum, and crushed raspberry aromas, deepened by violet, dried herbs, and subtle spice. Fresh and lively on the palate, it offers vibrant acidity, medium body, and firm yet integrated tannins for balanced structure. Versatile and extremely food-friendly.

An elegant, crisp 100% Sangiovese produced via traditional method. Erica is hand-riddled, aged five years on lees, and hand-disgorged with zero dosage. Raspberry and blackcurrant mingle with croissant, thyme, citrus, and grapefruit notes. Perfect as aperitivo but even better with seafood pasta.
