A Postcard from… Villa Saletta
Hand Picked Magazine is delighted to continue its travel feature A Postcard From… celebrating treasured places, memories and experiences.
In this issue, Roberto, Estate Director and David, General Manager and Head Winemaker invite you into life at Villa Saletta , a historic Tuscan estate where vineyards, villas and a deeply rooted way of living shape every day.
Greetings from Tuscany
When you wake up at Villa Saletta, the first thing you notice is the air. It’s cool and scented with wild herbs, with soft light lifting over the vineyards and the estate quietly coming to life before the day begins.
If you walk with us to the Torrino cru vineyard, we’ll show you where we first fell in love with this place. At golden hour, with the small red-brick tower glowing above the vines, it feels like stepping into a timeless Tuscan painting — something far beyond business or wine.
As you spend time here, history begins to reveal itself. You’ll feel it along the ancient woodland paths once walked by farmers and truffle hunters, and in the buildings scattered across the estate. At Villa Saletta, heritage isn’t something you visit — it’s something you live. We see it as our responsibility to protect it, while carefully reviving traditions lost to time.
When the pace slows, you’ll often find us walking those woods. After weeks of travel, the crisp air, earthy scents and quiet rhythm of nature restore balance instantly — and we think you’d feel the same.
Life here follows a natural ritual. As you move through the estate, you’ll see vineyards tended with care, ancient olive groves being restored, and regenerative farming methods shaping the land. Walking through the vines, what you feel most strongly is harmony — grapes growing alongside wild meadows, ancient olives and native flora.
If we had to capture Villa Saletta in a single moment, we’d choose the final day of harvest. The sun dipping low, the team together, rolling hills ahead — and a glass of our Spumante Rosé metodo classico in hand.
And when you arrive as a guest, there’s usually a pause. Tranquillity settles first. Then, almost without fail, that first genuine smile at golden hour, overlooking the vines. That’s when we know you’ve truly arrived.
See you soon,
Roberto & David
